Unlike some people, I keep pretty small scraps. Since I do a lot of card making, these come in handy. During the last organizational challenge, I put all of my scraps, by color, in file folders under my desk. This method worked OK, since the scraps were right at my feet. But there was a problem. Any scrap that still had two 12" sides left didn't fit. I know, I know...I could have trimmed the scraps down so they did. But there were other issues, too. Little scraps got lost at the bottom, and tended to fall out when I pulled the folders out. So I came up with this solution:
These are old Memory Dock page planner protectors (unfortunately, they aren't available any more, which makes me sad). They have a full 12.5 by 12.5 pocket on the back and four smaller pockets on the front. I have one of these for each color of solid cardstock and each color of patterned paper. Just looking at this makes me happy. See all the combinations I could come up with?! I got excited putting these together, because I could see how different papers from different manufacturers and lines could go together! I put these protectors right next to the corresponding full sheets in my Cropper Hoppers. So when I go to get a certain color of paper, there are scraps to look at right there. I think this is going to work really well!
