Green is also lower on my list of favorite colors...pretty much right above orange. Well, except for teal/blue green/whatever you want to call those green colors. Those I really love. But this adorable picture of my niece and nephew begged for a beautiful soft sage green. And I'm really happy with how it turned out:
I have to say that this color class is really inspiring me to branch out in my use of different colors. I find myself looking at photos I've taken and thinking of all the ways I could use color to enhance them. Plus, all of the different techniques and ideas that Nic Howard uses has helped me use a lot of my stash in different ways. This layout used a lot of really old stuff (yes, those are ancient MM mailbox letters in the title!). I don't even remember where I got the flowers or the brads or the ribbons, and the chipboard shapes I've had forever. I colored those with a Copic marker (also colored one piece of the ribbon!) and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I would have sworn I didn't own a single set of Thickers, but plain chipboard ones appeared out of nowhere! So I colored them with ink and heat embossed those, too. This layout was really fun to make and came together really quickly.
So you may be wondering where I am with the Organize Your Stuff Challenge. Or maybe not. But in any case, I AM still organizing. It's just that I don't have a large number of things in the categories we've been organizing lately. I have, like, four punches, which is this week's category. I do still want to catalogue my stickles and glitter, but that won't take me long since I have a tiny supply of those, too. Next week is tools and adhesives, and I already have those pretty well organized. Might rearrange a little...but I'm going to be having fun doing a BLUE layout!! Yay...my favorite color!!
what a cute layout! great job!
